ACT NOW 2025: CAYMA Activation Guide for Barangays
Goal: To establish a thriving CAYMA presence in your barangay, creating a hub for health, wellness, and community support.
Phase 1: Preparation & Contact Building
- Identify Key Leaders:
- Reach out to your Barangay Captain and council members. Explain the ACT NOW 2025 initiative and the benefits of CAYMA activation.
- Connect with local church leaders, school principals, and community elders.
- Recruit Volunteer Organizers:
- Seek enthusiastic individuals passionate about children, youth, and community health.
- Form a core team of at least 3-5 dedicated volunteers.
- Build Your Contact List:
- Compile a list of potential volunteers, sponsors, and community partners.
- Utilize local networks, social media, and community events to spread the word about ACT NOW 2025 and CAYMA.
- Partner with Key Organizations:
- Contact CLUB YELLOW TOPS for guidance on technology and online resources.
- Connect with YESCORPS.NET, POAGFI ONLINE, and ECS300 OPEN UNIVERSITY SYSTEM for potential training and support.
Phase 2: CAYMA Formation & Training
- Hold an Introductory Meeting:
- Invite all interested individuals to a meeting to explain CAYMA’s mission and goals.
- Present the ACT NOW 2025 initiative and the opportunities for volunteer involvement.
- Elect CAYMA Officers:
- Facilitate the election of officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, etc.)
- Ensure representation from different age groups and community sectors.
- Conduct Basic Training:
- Utilize resources from YESCORPS.NET and ECS300 OPEN UNIVERSITY SYSTEM to provide basic training on:
- Child development and youth engagement
- Health and wellness principles
- Community organizing and leadership skills

- Establish a Communication System:
- Create a group chat or online forum for CAYMA members to communicate and coordinate activities.
Phase 3: Implementing Key Initiatives
- Secure a Location:
- Identify a suitable space for the CAYMA Health & Home Reading Station (a room in the barangay hall, school, or church).
- Establish the Health & Home Reading Station:
- Gather books, magazines, and other resources related to health, wellness, and family life.
- Create a welcoming and engaging environment for children and families.
- Organize CHAW TAYO Clinics:
- Partner with local health professionals to offer free health assessments and wellness consultations.
- Promote preventative care
- Set Up a Nutrition Education Center:
- Provide information on healthy eating habits, meal planning, and food preparation.
- Organize cooking demonstrations and workshops.
- Establish a Free Food Pantry & Feeding Station:
- Collect food donations from local businesses, community members, and organizations.
- Distribute food to families in need and organize regular feeding programs.
- Create a Community Garden:
- Secure a plot of land and involve community members in planting and maintaining a garden.
- Grow fruits, vegetables, and herbs to provide fresh produce for the community.
Phase 4: Sustainability & Growth
- Seek Sponsorship & Support:
- Actively solicit sponsorships from local businesses, organizations, and individuals to support CAYMA’s activities.
- Promote Health & Home – The National Journal of Better Living to generate revenue for CAYMA projects.
- Organize Regular Events:
- Host health fairs, workshops, seminars, and community gatherings to promote health and wellness.
- Track Progress & Report Results:
- Monitor the impact of CAYMA’s activities and report results to stakeholders.
- Recognize & Celebrate Volunteers:
- Acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of volunteers through regular recognition events.
