ACT NOW 2025 – Rebuilding Masbate, Restoring Hope Through Homes for Jesus

Introduction

Masbate, a province of the Philippines, faces a convergence of crises: typhoons, agricultural collapse, land grabbing, educational disruption, and a looming mental health crisis. ACT NOW 2025 is a campaign to mobilize resources, empower communities, and build a resilient Masbate through the establishment of Homes for Jesus (H4J) communities in every barangay.

The Crisis in Masbate

1. Climate Vulnerability & Disaster Recovery

The Challenge: Typhoon Opong inflicted over ₱1.6B in damages, displacing thousands.

ACT NOW 2025 Response:

  • Partner with ADRA to provide shelter kits and disaster preparedness training through local H4J groups.
  • Establish community-based early warning systems coordinated by H4J leaders.

2. Agricultural Collapse & Food Insecurity

The Challenge: ₱252M in rice damage, crippling livelihoods.

ACT NOW 2025 Response:

  • Fund organic farming workshops (ADRA modules) facilitated by H4J members.
  • Support small-scale fisheries with sustainable practices integrated into H4J livelihood projects.

3. Land Grabbing & Farmer Displacement

The Challenge: Elite control over land, evicting farmers.

ACT NOW 2025 Response:

  • Empower H4J communities to advocate for land rights through legal aid and community organizing.
  • Promote fair land redistribution policies supported by H4J-led advocacy.

4. Education Disruption

The Challenge: Schools operating with limited classrooms, psychological trauma among students.

ACT NOW 2025 Response:

  • Provide educational resources in close collaboration with volunteer groups and support organizations of CLUB YELLOW TOPS – The Internet Computer Club of Global Frontiers Institute.
  • Explore partnerships with AMEN Philippines (Adventist Medical Evangelism Network) to offer trauma-healing workshops through H4J Care Groups.

5. Weak Infrastructure & Services

The Challenge: Blackouts, sanitation gaps, and limited access to clean water.

ACT NOW 2025 Response:

  • Distribute solar lamps and water purification systems through H4J networks.
  • Support community-led sanitation projects initiated by H4J members.

6. Mental Health Crisis

The Challenge: Post-disaster trauma and anxiety.

ACT NOW 2025 Response:

  • Train H4J leaders in basic counseling skills.
  • Establish mental health support groups facilitated by H4J volunteers.

ACT NOW 2025: Our Integrated Approach

  • Homes for Jesus (H4J): Establish community hubs in every barangay, integrating spiritual growth with social action.
  • Model Community: The online formation and on-site activation of the Homes for Jesus (H4J) local community in Barangay Pawa, Masbate City, is designed to serve as a model for the action of a local H4J Community in every barangay/neighborhood in Masbate and beyond.
  • H4J Vision:
    • Establishment of a Health and Home Center of Influence, Reading Stations, and Community Library.
    • Establishment of CHAW TAYO – Comprehensive Health Assessment and Wellness Promotion Clinic, Nutrition Education Centers, FREE FOOD PANTRY, FEEDING STATIONS, and Community Gardens.
  • Local Partnerships: Mobilize CLUB EZEKIEL (Adventist Men), TEAM SARAH (Women), and CAYMA (Youth) to lead H4J initiatives.
  • Educational Resources: Partner with CLUB YELLOW TOPS to provide digital literacy training and access to online learning materials.
  • Medical Evangelism: Explore collaboration with AMEN Philippines to integrate health and healing into H4J community outreach.
  • Sustainable Solutions: Focus on long-term resilience and environmental stewardship.
  • Faith-Based Values: Rooted in compassion, justice, and service.

    • Participate in virtual training sessions to become H4J leaders.
    • Connect with CLUB EZEKIEL, TEAM SARAH, and CAYMA members online to form H4J core teams.
  2. On-Site Activation:
    • Establish H4J Care Groups in your barangay, following the model of Barangay Pawa.
    • Implement community projects addressing local needs (disaster relief, food security, education).
